I have also found that sometimes not all items appear in the system tray and
a reboot seems to bring them back, most annoying.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] System Tray Items

This is just driving me batty here. Why do those 6 items like to play hide
and seek all the time, some showing up others not?

I have to say...this is one case where XP is ruling over Win/7, never had
these issues before.
I have been going to that notification on the task bar, then doing the
applications key to change it again and again...
I tried checking the box to show all notifications, I think that was not an
improvement. When I tab to the stuff already listed as being in the
sys-tray, when I like down arrow, then up arrow back to show up, I hear this
item is not active but will be when I reboot*well it doesn't say that reboot
part, I just know that's what I do to get them back in their list where they
are to be.

Is this like one of those win/7 quirks?

Trish
