Are you talking about jaws scripts?

If so, from the app you're talking about, jaws key + number row 0 brings it up, and Ctrl + S from there will do the save/compile, and you can close it then.

Not sure if that's what you meant, but anyway...

Ctrl + S - as in similar to a general save keystroke.
