Hi,
My wife is using my old Canon F30 printer, scanner and copier with is
working fine. She does have an annoying problem which I cannot figure
out and I need some expert advice.
She is using the Canon with her XP laptop computer. When She starts
her laptop from a cold start, she always get the annoying message
that window cannot find the Canon, Messages like that the printer is
not turned on or not connected. Granted, She only turns on the
printer when she wants to print something and 99% of the time she
don't know if she is printing anything when she turns on the laptop.
Of course, if she turns on the printer before she turns the laptop
on, the message does not appear.
If the printer is not on when the laptop is on and she decides to
print a document, she then turns on the Canon, but she cannot print
anything. Apparently, the printer must be off-line as indicated by
the message when she turned on the laptop. I tried to help her to put
it on-line. but we cannot get it to work. At this point, she has to
restart the laptop in order to print anything.
Does anyone know if there any settings with Canon printers that can
bypass the initial message and be able to print anything when turning
on the Canon after the laptop is turned on?
As I mentioned, it was my old Canon printer on my desktop XP computer
and none of these annoying problems did occur.
Any ideas or information to get around this problem? Any advice will
be gratefully appreciated. Take care.
Lennie
