Hi,

I must ask what bank do you get your checks from? I am using what they call sighted checks from Bank of America. It is the size of a business check with raised printing and lines.

I am currently using MS Word Office 2003 to print my checks. It is not perfect, but it does the job nicely. The problem that I usually run into is When I order new checks the check printer may vary the printing just enough to forced me to make changes to Word to accommodate the difference.

I have a table in MS Word with four columns, payee, the number amount, the written amount and the memo field. I have set up another file which is laid out exactly (well almost) like the check. Then I do a merge to create a file ready to print my checks.

Let me know if you are interested. Perhaps we can communicate off-line.

Take care.

Lennie

OK, here's some background; I'm using the Talking Checkbook software to manage my check accounts, registers and printing checks. The thing I don't much like about it is that I must order "Intuit Style" checks and these are notably more expensive than normal checks you order from your friendly, neighborhood branch of your conglomerate banking institution.

What I'd like to do is to define a MS Word template for filling out a normal check, but I suspect I'd need a printer that would be able to handle paper stock the size of those normal checks.

Can anybody offer any suggestions/advice on this?
