Subject: Re: [Blind-Computing] Does MSE Have A Site Advisor Function?

I suggest going to Amazon.com and purchasing a copy of Malwarebytes. It is currently on sale for $18 with lifetime updates (it is normally $30). Malwarebytes is a much better solution than IE's Smart screen filter because this Smart screen filter depends on someone reporting a site whereas Malwarebytes scans in real time for malicious behavior. Malwarebytes is the equivalent of a tourist guide steering you away from bad parts of a city whereas Smart screen filter depends on a random person having been robbed and reporting that part of the city as a high crime rate area. I guess I'm conveying that you don't want to be the first person to report to Microsoft that you've been attacked by a virus on a given website. I will also add that there have been many, many more times where Malwarebytes has stopped a possibly malicious website where Smart screen filter has not warned me one bit. I have indeed turned on Smart screen filter for an additional although weak layer of protection. If safety on the internet is important to you, the latest version of MSE and Malwarebytes is the way to go. To answer your question directly, Malwarebytes does warn you about a possibly dangerous website as well as warning you about odd behavior from any application you may have installed on your computer that is trying to phone home for whatever reason as was the case for something I installed last week. I do lots of googling for answers on the internet, and I've been safe so far with just this combination of protection.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Does MSE Have A Site Advisor Function?

Hello,

I'm thinking of switching from McAfee to MSE, in part due to improved accessibility. However, my McAfee package does include a function called "site advisor", which tries to steer you away from clicking on websites that may be harmful to your computer. Does MSE have a function like this?

Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
