Hello Trish; I'm sure you know, However, you can make adjustments to the sleep option, By doing the following;
Start menu edit box, Type in, Power options. Press enter. Now you can tab to change when the computer sleeps link; Press enter. The default is; 15 minutes on battery, 30 minutes on plugged-in. Also, You could if you wish to create an icon on the desktop which puts your laptop to sleep. Note, Some folks have problems when the unit comes back up, cause jaws doesn't always speak. When I first got it, it was in I think sleep mode, because if I wasn't doing something it would nod off and then I would have to press the spacebar on my name to wake it up again. Mine is shut down every single night or even other times too. But, with most laptops that I am aware of, if you close down the lid, it goes into a dormant state and when you raise the lid so you can type, you have to put in your pasword and it comes back up.
