Probably more than you would ever need actually. Honestly I do not know if 
there is an upper limit but I have three of them on my 7 system and have 
never had an issue at all.

Along with the internal I have two USB cards on there, one external is for 
JAWS and the other is a USB headset with microphone. So the short answer is 
go for it my friend.

How many sound cards can you have in windows 7 machine? Right now I have 2. 
I have been wondering if I could add a usb card with a transmitter to pipe 
music to different parts of the house. I know I would need different sets of 
speakers. One thought is in the kitchen and also the basement.
When my wife is working in the kitchen music could be transmitted there and 
not interfere with jaws.
