Dear Norman!
Go to miranda, the big menu, first the menu, do not go right to
status menu, in the big menu, that has no name, search the options
menupoint.
On the options tree, search for jabber protocoll.
Go in the preferences, with tab, in the username field enter e.g.
smalldog instead of [email protected]
So, do not need the @gmail.com.
Enter your password.
Go with tab, and in domain server type:
gmail.com
There are some checkboxes. Use tls should be unchecked, but with shift
tab go to use ssl, and check it.
Go with tab to the checkbox:
Manually specify connection host:
Check it.
in the host edit field write:
talk.google.com
Search an edit field, what sais port, and write:
5223
Then, press aply, and ok, and you should be connected.

I looked on the Miranda site but I am not sure what to search for.
Is it a plugin?
