Oh, great! I'm not terribly fond of using that search box, so this will work find for me and the person who will be getting this Acer laptop with a 17 inch screen.

Again, rick, thanks for your help and for that good old blind computing homepage and list! I couldn't do it without that! Keep up the good work and know how much you and David are loved and appreciated!

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Classic Shell for Windows 7

Hi Arianna,
The installation for the Classic Shell is pretty straight forward,
everything is selected by default unless you are using IE8, in which case
the IE9 option will be unavailable.
If at any time after installing you decide you want to
use the search box in Windows 7, just put the focus on the start button,
as you might if you were wanting the properties of the start menu,
then route Jaws to PC, and press shift + the left mouse button, and the
Windows 7 start menu will appear with the search box in focus.
Keep in mind, that this will have to be repeated each time you want to use
the search box.
Otherwise, each time you press the Windows key, you should have a start menu
like Windows XP.
HTH,
Rick Justice
