Hi. Are you talking about a wireless connection? If so your laptop should have a switch on it which turns your wireless card on and off. Make sure this is on and then go to your system tray and find the wireless network connection icon. >From this point the steps are different depending on what screen reader you use. Let me know if you need more help. Also if your using windows xp the steps are somewhat different.
