I think what is being referred to here is an air card or at least what AT&T calls theirs. I tried the AT&T aircard back a few years ago and it was not accessible at all. The reason I say it was not accessible at all is because when I had it you had to plug in the air card then you had to find a connect button for the air card to allow you to connect to the internet; the connect button was not accessible. I spoke to many people with AT&T even their disability department before I decided to return the device which felt much like a flash drive. If I remember correctly AT&T had a thirty day trial period. The trial period gave me ample time to determine whether it was something I was going to be able to use or not. Keep in mind this was a few years ago and by now I would hope they have improved accessibility, but who knows. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Norman King" <[email protected]>

Hi Michael.
If you have a smart phone like the iPhone or an android phone you can use
that.
Otherwise most of the big wireless carriers have usb motems which lets your
computer use there data at three g speeds.
I have used one of these from verizen and t-moble.
The software you install from verizen is farely accessible but the t-moble
software is not in my opinion although I could use it when I got use to it.
I have no experience with sprint or at&t.
Hopes this helps.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Accessing the internet while on the road

Hello Listers, I am going to be going away for a week. During that time I want to have access to the internet. Is there a device that I can buy that will give me access to the internet while on the road and at my destination?
Such as a wifi hotspot. Or some thing like that. How does that work?
Running windows 7 and jaws 11.
Thanks
Michael
