Hi:

The only issue I can think of at the top of my head is JAWS standard vs
Professional license.
If you own a standard license JAWS won't run on Windows 7 Professional,
Ultimate or Enterprise editions.
Windows 7 Pro / Windows 7 Enterprise is very common for businesses.
You need JAWS professional to be able to use JAWS on those versions of Windows
7.

Mark,

For clarification, you can check with Freedom Scientific to be certain. But,
you are allowed three license keys as I understand it. This is for the
purpose of allowing someone to use one at work, one at home, and perhaps a
laptop. Read the License agreement. You can only use one copy at a time as I
remember. But, you can't use the one at home if you are at work. So, it is a
single license. Now, if you were to decide to let somebody else use one of
those keys, that would be illegal. They are for your use only.

Hi Al,
Wow, Freedom Scientific would let me install my home copy of JAWS at
work also? That would be fantastic!
Thank you for the heads up on that one.

God bless,
Mark

Mark,

Why can't you install your own certified copy? It is a
legitimate licensed copy, correct?

Al

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Screen Reader for Work

Hi
There is a possibility I may get an office job. One of
the hurtles I
will have to get past is needing a screen reading program
for the computer.
They are running windows 7. I know that JAWS does a
wonderful job. However,
it is a non-profit place and they don't have that type of
money. So, I am
wondering what alternatives I can offer them? Is narrator
sufficient for MS
Word ?

God bless,
Mark
