Hi Radha, If you are trying to label a graphic on a webpage, pressing control, insert, + G, will give you 2 different results depending on if you have automatic forms mode turned on or are using the virtual cursor. If automatic forms mode is on, control, insert, + G will start the auto graphics labeler. If the virtual cursor is active, control, insert, + G, will bring up a list of graphics.
When I label graphics, I route the jaws cursor to the PC cursor first, then press the page-up button to go to the top of the page, press the home button to move to the top, left of the page. Use the arrow keys to move to the first toolbar button. You will hear, "Graphic XXX." XXX can indicate any number. Press INSERT+G to open the Graphics Labeler but, don't go back to your PC cursor When the Graphics Labeler is opened, the focus is in the edit field, where you should enter the label for the graphic. It will contain the graphic number. Press the delete key to remove the number then, type the name for your graphic. Press the TAB key to move to the Braille label field. Here you can enter a label for a Braille display. Next press the TAB key to move to a group of radio buttons that will let you determine where you want to save the label, in the application file, default file, or both files. Choose the application file. Press ENTER to activate your graphic label. Note: To edit a graphic label, use the same procedure that you would to create a new graphic label, and just change the name of the label in the Graphics Labeler when it opens. To delete a graphic label, do the same, but delete the name in the Graphics Labeler. Hope this helps. Take care. Folks, Graphic labeling with the JAWS cursor is really bad, I have tried it on several occasions. Namely on websites where they have the Submit button as a image/ graphic. What I do is first place the PC cursor on the graphic and then route JAWS to PC. Insert G to label the graphic, no matter how many times I try this I keep getting the following message: JAWS Graphics Labeler Error: The JAWS cursor is NOT positioned on a graphic. I tried this out with a sighted friend also, asked him to position the mouse pointer on the image/graphic, switched to JAWS cursor and then Insert G to label. This attempt failed too. JAWS guru’s please shed light on what might be wrong here. can i use custom label in jaws/insert plus f2? If so, please guide else paste a link having a nice tutorials about it.
