I'd like to thank you for the help in, I think, as of now, fixing the
problem. My friend Julie, with your instructions, and her brains, fixed it
for me. I'm to stupid to have done it but she did it fine. If anyone on
the list has problems, she is a good one to ask for help. Again, thanks.
Dan

Dan, I wouldn't think that one e-mail would be the cause of all your
problems. If you remove dbx files, you will lose all of the messages in
the folder associated with that dbx file. If you delete inbox.dbx, you'll
lose all those message. So if you have important ones, move them to
another folder.

Thanks for the help; will I loose all the messages in the outbox, sent
items folder and the deleted items folder if I do what you suggested?
One other note; I have an email in my inbox. which won't open; I can open
and read all the other ones except that one. Could this be my problem in
that maybe something is wrong with that one?

Dan, had this problem this week myself. You may very well have a
corrupt dbx file, or several. You may want to delete the outbox.dbx,
sent items dot dbx. and deleted.dbx files. To do this, go to start, and
then search for files and folders. Type in, dot dbx. Then, tab to more
advanced options, and make sure you check the boxes for hidden files,
and system folders. This way you should find the files you're looking
for. If you have any messages, you need to hold onto in the deleted
folder, move them to another folder before you do this. Basically what
will happen is when you start OE again, it will create new DBX files for
the ones you deleted. In so doing, all of your messages will be lost in
the respective folders. Good luck!

Subject: [Blind-Computing] I need help with outlook express;
Something bad has happened to my outlook express program; I cannot
delete any messages and many of my memo options are suddenly not
available. We had a thunderstorm yesterday and my computer was shut
down, I mean the electricity was knocked off; Anyone with any ideas?
