Hi Mr. Holland, This is basically what happened. I'm running Widows7 Pro 64 bit, IE9, Windows Mail, & J13 latest. When I installed WinMail about 1 year ago I followed the instructions & installed all the .REG files that were supposed to be installed. Well, WinMail never would show in the default programs list but, I never took the time to figure out why because I mainly use my XP computer. So, the other day I set out on a mission to find out why. I did a Google search for why WinMail doesn't show up in the default programs list &, came across a .REG file that is supposed to fix this problem in Vista. So, I backed up my registry & ran the .REG file. Running this .REG file fixed everything. Before my contacts folder didn't have an email client associated with it & I couldn't send a page or link by email when in IE. Well, with WinMail now in the default programs list, I was able to set WinMail as the default email client, & the contact folder / IE emailing pages / links is all working now! Thank you very much for your input. Take care. Mike This email was sent from our, iGasSucking460Powered1969Mach1!

Here's the thing though, "Windows Mail" is essentially Outlook Express renamed (with probably a few unremarkable enhancements). If your list has "Outlook Express" it will not have "Windows Mail" as an option. The other thing is, if "Windows Mail" is not installed on your PC it will again not show up as an option. Finally, "Windows Mail" and "Windows Live Mail" are NOT the same program. I know this because I originally had "Windows Mail" on my PC, and something happened that corrupted one of the program's DLL components. Windows presented me with an option to reload "Windows Mail," but instead downloaded and installed "Windows Live Mail." Ugh! If I had only known! ---------------- Frank James - NO, Not That One! ;-) E-Mail: [email protected] -----Original Message----- From: MWB Sent: Sunday, September 30, 2012 6:33 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Blind-Computing] Windows Mail,Setting It As The Default Email Client Hi Kimsan, Windows Mail is not in the list! Navigate to the CTRL panel or type in the windows search box default programs. 2. Tab to "set your default programs" and press enter. 3. Tab once into the list and press "w" until you arrive to windows mail. 4. Tab to the button "Set this program as default and press spacebar. 5. Tab to the ok button and press spacebar. I don't have windows mail active on this machine I am using so the program isn't showing, but hopefully it will work. When I am in my contacts folder, open the context menu / send to / mail recipient & press enter to send an email, I get the message that I don't have a default email client associated to do this. How do I make WindowsMail my default email client? All help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks much, take care. Mike This email was sent from our, iGasSucking460Powered1969Mach1!
