That seemed to work.
My bad was I didn't check the boxes that needed to be checked.
The last time I set up an email account in gmail using windows mail was over
a year ago so I forgot some important details.

To configure Windows Mail for your Gmail address:
1. Enable POP in your email account. Don't forget to click Save Changes
when you're done.

at this time. Press enter on Finish.
11. On the Internet Accounts screen, make sure that your pop.gmail.com mail
account is selected, and enter on the Properties button.
12. On the Advanced tab, enter 465 in the in the box next to Outgoing mail
(SMTP), and check the box next to This server requires an encrypted
connection
(SSL).
13. Check the box next to This server requires an encrypted connection
(SSL) under Incoming mail (POP3). The box next to Incoming mail (POP3)
should automatically
update to 995.

14. enter OK. You're done! Close the Internet Accounts window and activate
the send/receive to start receiving your Gmail messages.

I have been trying to set up my gmail account in windows mail and I can’t
seem to get it to work.
I enabled pop in the gmail site, I entered the server info such as 110 or
25, then tried 995 etc, but nothing seems to work. Can someone provide
information on how to configure windows mail with a gmail account?
