Hi Sharon,
Its,easy to do if you do this :
Go to windows update and tab to find "Installed updates"
press  down or the "W" key to find Windows IE9  press applacation  and
uninstall it,
IE8 will be restored automatically.. note,
to prevent installing it again change the update settings to "let me
choose to download and install them"
and the next time it appears there, tick applacation on it and hide it...
