Hi Anna,

Try the following:
1. Open the Control Panel & find Power Options & press enter to open.
2. When power Options opens you will be on the first tab of the power
schemes tab. Home / Office Desk should be selected here.
3. Tab 3 times to your monitor settings combobox, I have mine on 10 minutes
just in case the monitor is turned on & someone forgets to turn it off, it
will turn off after 10 minutes. Tab 1 time to the hard disks combobox, I
have mine set on, never. Tab 1 time to the stand by combobox, I have mine
set on, never.
4. Tab to the apply button & press the spacebar. Now control + tab 2 times
to the, Hibernate tab.
5. You should be on the, Enable Hibernation checkbox, if this box is
checked, uncheck it with the spacebar.
6. Tab to apply, press the spacebar, tab to okay , press the spacebar or
enter to save your changes & close.

The steps above are the way my computers are set-up & these are my
preferences. I'm not saying that you should set your computer up this way,
I'm just giving an example. I don't want the computer doing anything unless
I give the commands to do so.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
Mike
