Hi Bob, not so much into the advance configurations of music so hope I do
not sound like a total dummy but what is preanp and if I go into the
equalizer and adjust settings in my attempt to learn, is there a way to
revert back to the default settings without having to once more delete the
ini files in the Winamp directory?
Secondly Bob, what are these ten bands. In this case are bands here referred
to bass, trebble, echo and so on? And how to access them.
Again, hope my querries do not make me look silly as a person on another
list was made out to be born in a different planet by another lister for
asking what is Facebook.
Thanks for your help andpatience my brother.

File in a Selected List
Hi Steve.
Here's how to do some things with the equalizer.
All these should be done within winamp. I'm using winamp 5.61, if you are
using something else then maybe they'll work.
Press alt+g. If it says equalizer closed then press it again to open it.
Press ctrl+tab until you hear "winamp equalizer".
The letter n (as in nebulous) will toggle the equalizer to "enable" and
"disable".
The numbers 1 thru 0 on the top row of your keyboard will increase the
volume on each band of the equalizer. The letters q thru p on the top
letter
row on the keyboard will decrease the ten bands corresponding to the
number
above it. (If that doesn't make sense, ask and I can try to explain it
better.
The ` (grave accent) will increase the volume of the preamp, and the tab
key
will decrease it.
Hope this helps..

I suppose that's what I did unknowingly and messed up Winamp big time.
Rick, I know this may have been covered already but it slips me how to
adjust the equalizer in Winamp. Can yu refresh my memory please?
Thanks.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Winamp Won't Play Next File in a Selected List
Recently a member posted about Winamp not playing the next file in a
selected list of files automatically.
It has been suggested that deleting the .ini file in the Winamp directory
will correct this problem.
I have encountered this problem before, but I didn't
understand why it happened with no apparent reason.
Well, here is the most likely cause, which is much simpler
Winamp has a command for this particular behavior,
and I discovered it while editing ID Tag information in Winamp.
Winamp shares a command keystroke with Windows, which is
Control + V
I verified this in the following versions, 2.8, 5.04 and 5.62.
Maybe because of screen echo settings with Jaws or otherwise, the user is
not
hearing this command when it is activated.
I haven't looked for a way to disable this keystroke,so I don't even know
at
this point if that is possible.
While in Winamp, if you look in the Playback sub-menu, you will find the
command listed.
Interesting what you can learn in the wee morning hours.
HTH,
Rick Justice
