My first questions are always who are they and what did they do exactly? I'm sure this can be resolved if enough information is obtained in order to understand what all has been done and what should have been done was forgotten.
First off it sounds like your old account is still listed under tools / accounts. I'll try to resolve this but like I said more information is needed.
