Hi Amber, The problem seems to be more complicated than I think it is. If it is not booting and going to your desktop, I am not sure what to suggest. However, if you are wanting to boot your computer in safe mode do this: Press the F8 key when you have restarted the computer, keep this key pressed till after the windows log on screen disappears.
