Turn off your antivirus, and uninstall avast then.
I have excluded folders with bgt and a few others but to be honest, I
think I may as well forget about antivirus, the blind get targeted by
antivirus software so.

When I was writing my zip directory program, avast kept deleting my
executables when I tried to time how long the zipping process took. I
had to jump through hoops to stop avast from thinking my timing
routine was viral activity. Perhaps you have a similar problem.
