I suspect it's done like that so you have a vague chance of surviving
against the levl 1 manamon you come across, and can start building your
collection.

I have been wondering something for a little while about Manamon.
Why is the first manamon that you get at the beginning at level 5 instead
level 1?
I feel that the first one that you get should be level 1.
The game can still work the same accept you start at level like A Hero's
Call.
