Hi guys,
For better or worse, last week I did something voluntarily that I have
been dreading. I upgraded to Windows 10. I figured if I'm going to be
executed I'd rather get it over with.
For most things, luckily, I found it not to be as bad as I'd imagined.
True, I had to spend an entire week finding out how to tweak things so
that the change was virtually unnoticeable, but now, for the most part,
I feel like I'm back on earth for a second chance.
One thing that does seem to have changed though, is its responsiveness
with games.
Even with the DirectX fixes, I still can't seem to get Pipe2 or
Troopanum2 to work under Windows 10. To add insult to injury, the BK
series (BK3 being a game which I am playing almost constantly these
days), is somehow less responsive both with scrolling and with SAPI (I
guess they could be one in the same problem). To be more specific, the
game takes about 100MS to respond after a scroll, whether that be in a
menu, or a new piece of storyline. On Windows 7, if I needed to scroll
quickly, I could hold the arrow keys down and it would scroll at about
70MS, now for some reason it's about 150. I am both fascinated and
relieved that the same problem doesn't manifest itself in such as
Manamon or Paladin. This means that it's not SAPI or keyboard management
at the system level, although something has obviously changed at the
system level somewhere to make some games slow down.
Has anyone noticed and/or found a way around these issues?
Cheers.
Damien.
