ObjectiveEd will have its first game ready for initial testing in early
January. It will be a reimplementation of Barnyard, focused on laterality,
directionality, point-and-drag, fine motor control and memory with a web-based
dashboard showing student progress on the skills outlined in the Individualized
Educational Plan, known as an IEP.

The game is designed for students, not adults, and will be applicable for
blind, low vision and sighted students. The reason to include sighted students
in this game is to allow a teacher to let all students in the class play the
same game. For blind students, the game is an audio game. For low vision
students, the screen will have large bold icons. The sighted students, the
screen will be animated.

Most of the game settings will be performed at the website, by the teacher, and
not within the game, although the game will have an ability to connect to the
website from within the game. Currently, we do not envision needing to modify
settings such as voice preference, pitch and speed since the students are young
- probably pre-K through 2nd grade. If we find that's bad decision, like
anything else, we'll change our decision.

We will need feedback on game play and want to give a higher priority to those
of you who regularly work with visually impaired students, or have prior
experience working with visually impaired children or teens.
