There is a guide to use Steam with a screen reader here:
https://forum.audiogames.net/topic/30133/how-to-use-steam-with-a-screen-reader-in-2019/
I haven't quite had the success that guide claims, since I've not found
Steam's UI quite as screen reader friendly myself, however, once you've
finished the setup (most of which is just a standard website signup
process), you can largely ignore Steam.
Many things, EG achievements, downloading games etc can be done
directly from the website and once the game is installed you can run it
from shortcuts like any other program, though you might occasionally
need to click the game's name in the Steam window to update the game,
though fortunately that bit does read okay.
Sequence storm itself runs %100 fine, using Sapi for output and giving
you all the sound kews you possibly need, plus as I said the game is
awesome.
So, whilst steam is a neccessary evil, its not too evil in this case, or
at least I've not found it so myself.
All the best,
Dark.
