Hi list,
I'm curious if any of you know of, or would be willing to help build, a sapi
voice that, instead of speaking text, just passes it to the NVDA controller?
The purpose of this is fairly obvious: NVDA speech in games (and applications -
but mostly games) that only currently support SAPI.
I'm not terribly familiar with the existing screen reader libraries, but it
might even be possible to integrate this with one of those, meaning that we
could get speech from any supported screen reader, not just NVDA.
My reason for asking here is that I'm not at all familiar with the Windows
interfaces required to create a SAPI voice, and I'm hoping that somebody on
here might be. This doesn't really seem like that complicated a project, so I'm
also wondering if there's some reason I'm not aware of that makes it infeasible.

As a note, I'm aware that an interface like this could be used to create an
infinite loop (by setting the screen reader's voice to use SAPI), and don't
consider that reason not to build it.

Best,
John
