Email SignatureYou probably don't have mushreader.dll in your main client
directory. You should copy the following files:
audio.dll
bass.dll
dolapi.dll
mushReader.dll
NvdaControllerClient32.dll
These *should* get you full screen reader and audio support.

Best,
John

Hi. I've almost got everything set up for my new MUSHClient installation but
I'm getting some strange errors from MushReader and it's not reading anything.
It keeps saying:

Run-time error
Plugin: MushReader (called from world: Erion MUD)
Immediate execution
[string "Plugin: MushReader"]:276: attempt to index global 'nvda' (a nil value)
stack traceback:
[string "Plugin: MushReader"]:276: in function 'stop'
[string "Alias: "]:5: in main chunk

In case it helps I got this version from Mush-Z. Can anyone tell me what might
be causing this? Thanks.

That should also be in mush-z, or included with a fresh installation of the
client.

Thanks. I think I can get most of those from Alter Aeon's soundpack, but
where can I get repeat_command?

I'll take the easy one first:
You cannot combine soundpacks cleanly unless you know exactly what you're
overwriting. Yes, it's definitely doable, but (for instance in Alter Aeon's
case) mush-z is not designed to work with any other muds, and if you try to
force it, you're going to have to jump through some hoops.
Most other soundpacks can probably be combined, but again, not without care
and attention to detail.
If you're really determined to get your number of installations down, drop
me a line off-list and I'll see if I can help you out.
As for plugins, I import the following into every world I make regardless
of subject:
    mushReader, output_functions, LuaAudio, omit_blank_lines, and auto_retyping.
For most muds, channel_history is also practically required for best
experience.
I personally always like having repeat_command available as well, but
that's a matter of my particular usage pattern, and may not be yours (if you
don't use it though you may want to give it a try).
    Best,
    John

    Subject: [blind-gamers] MUSHClient Questions

Hi. I just downloaded MUSHClient for my computer. I've used it before but
this is a new installation, and I was wondering what plugins you all would
recommend installing and where I can get them. I at least need a plugin to read
MUD output and one to capture output so it's easier to review. In case it
helps, I use NVDA as my screen reader. I also have a question about different
versions of MUSHClient. I have a few different versions for different games I
play. The MUSHClient versions themselves are the same or only a couple builds
apart. I hate having 4 or 5 different versions and want to combine them into
one installation, but last time I tried this, I started getting errors and
MUSHClient started acting weird. When I tried it, I put all the sounds,
plugins, and other files into the folders for one version of MUSHClient. I just
tried to put them in the folders they were in for the versions of MUSHClient
they came from. Sometimes I had to choose a copy of a file if both versions had
a file with the same name. If that happened I usually chose the newer file. Is
there a way to combine soundpacks like this without causing problem? Thanks.
