Hi Dave, from Ron Kolesar. Please write me off list at: [email protected] I don’t have any USB external equipment. But I’d love to be able to help you out as a Blind Gamer and or blind flight simmer. I have a win 10 machine with 12 gigs of memory with a I 7 processor. Plus I’m way way older than 21. SMILES. I’m highly interested in your project. Just wished that more sighted people would be interested in designing hand to ear coordination/and to ear navigational games. Because like our sighted family members and friends, we too just want a equal playing field, but with our disability in mind. There’s more than one way to see and since we can’t see with our eyes, we see with our ears. Many Thanks. Ron Kolesar
From: David Gonçalves Sent: Tuesday, July 21, 2020 16:33 To: [email protected] Subject: [blind-gamers] Inclusive Gaming - Games for Everyone! I'm David and I'm a researcher working in Lisbon, Portugal. Let me start by saying that although I am not active on the mailing list, it's a very important source of information for my work in accessible gaming. About 7 months ago I shared my research work on inclusive gaming, on this list. At the time I was trying to contact people with visual impairments who could help me by sharing their gaming experiences. I would like to thank again everyone who completed the survey. I come again for help. I developed two computer games with the intent to promote inclusive experiences among people with different levels of vision. These are two player games and, as such, we are inviting pairs of volunteers to test and evaluate our prototypes. For this study, pairs must have different levels of vision (sighted-blind or sighted-low vision pairs) and must be related (family member, real-life friend, online friend, etc.). All participants must be 12 or older and minors can only participate with the authorization of the respective legal guardian. So, if you are under 18 and you're interested, you should first talk to your parents or legal guardian. As part of one of these pairs, you will try these games and give your perspectives and suggestions, which will help us to assess their potential to mixed-ability gaming. Our expectation is that the games provide enjoyable experiences for all our participants. Also, we will provide a gift voucher worth 25€ from Amazon.com to all participants as a compensation for the time. If you, along with someone else, match these characteristics and are interested in participating, we would be very grateful for your help. You must apply as a pair and for that, either you or your play partner must send an email to [email protected] with the email addresses and ages of both (in the case of a minor participant, please give us the email of the legal tutor and the age of the participant). Both will then be contacted, so that we can send an informative briefing with which you can familiarize yourself with the study and research we do. Then, if you remain interested and any doubts you have are answered, you (or your legal tutor) can give your consent to participate. Any question, please feel free to ask me. Thank you and best regards! 😄 David Gonçalves In the good old days of Morse code Shorthand, 73's AKA Best Regards and or Best Whishes,From Ron Kolesar Volunteer Certified Licensed Emergency Communications Station And Volunteer Certified Licensed Ham Radio Station With the Call Sign of KR3DOG -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Groups.io Links: You receive all messages sent to this group.
