You're missing some form of a dependency.

Hey guys, I thought you might be able to make some sense from this error message I received from trying to play blast chamber on my windows 10 machine.

---------------------------

Pipe 2.0

---------------------------

Component 'msoecmd32.dll' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid

---------------------------

OK

---------------------------I was trying to run as administrator the same as normal, but out of nowhere I get this message.

Anyone familiar with the above DLL file? This game used to run fine on this PC!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

One of the most common questions I get is "how do I run BSC games"?

Every single time, my answer is "it runs perfectly fine for me whenever I test it".

I honestly do not know what's going on for folks and why these games are causing so much difficulty, as I have never once encountered any trouble, and the only way to fix a problem is to be able to reproduce it yourself.

This topic keeps coming up - I keep running tests - and the games keep working just fine.

If you're running them as a normal user, run them as admin. If you're running them as admin, try a normal user (yes, somehow this can actually work for some programs). If you installed them to the default location, put them in your documents folder instead. If you put them in documents, try using the defaults. If UAC is enabled, turn it off. If Defender is enabled, try pausing it.

That list is all the general problem solving tricks that seem to generically work under Windows 10, regardless of what program we're talking about. Some of them are really fairly bad advice (disabling your antivirus is not a good idea) - but some old programs just can't handle modern systems.

If none of the above works, my answer is "go buy a cheap windows Xp computer and just use that instead".

John,

I’m interested in what games you’ve got going on win 10.

I used to love troopanum 2 and blast chamber, but gave up as it appeared that they didn’t work.

You’ll make my day if you have any of these working.

Thanks,

David.

Unfortunately I'm unable to help you with the BSC issue: they've run fine on every system I've tested. Maybe try running them as administrator.

It's nice to see another TOC player, though.

Greetings Gamers!
BSC Games and win ten?
Any one got them running?
I can get the register the game window up but the game will not launch
, it just goes silent/closes.
I was alerted to the dot net dependency by another gamer so wondered
if any one else had any BSC title running and could verify
what version of dot net you are running? I recall to run some older
titles you needed certain dependencies to get the oldies to run like
direct exe version 8 but I see no reference to dot net in the docs.
I do have dot net on my system, it is version 4 point something but
something from an older version my be necessary for whatever reason
but who knows.  Smiles!
I also have the kitchen, GMA and draconis games running with no problems.

Well Thanks for reading and Game On!  Sly
who is ten hours  deep into a game of time of conflict.  Smiles!
