Hi Nicol,
For the oil slicks, you need to make sure the robot is moving directly
towards you on a straight line. Otherwise it'll be very difficult to get
it to run into the oil, because it's moving both horizontally and
vertically. Your best option here may be to use walls to guide it.
I can't comment on your second question, though you might be able to
find out the answer with enough time after you unlock the cheat codes.

I've read on the audiogames.net forum that super deekout has 172 levels. Is
that really true? And has anybody been able to beat all 172 levels?
I only get as far as level7.
