Hi.
The game is confusing at first.
To interact with things and see what is around you, you need to target
them with the j k l i keys, these are used to target monsters to attack,
as well as shopkeepers to talk to etc.
if you hit "v", it will cycle through different groups to interact with,
EG all, enemies, npcs, players etc, this is useful in areas with lots of
other players, or when you want to target the enemies.
Once you target something you can hit p to have your character walk to
it automatically. You can also hit left bracket to make it sound an
audio beacon, or hit right bracket to have anything you're targeted on
start a beacon this is also handy in combat.
to interact, hit the enter key when you've targeted a villager, the npcs
with the first couple of quests are in the village square to the north.
Be careful in the sewer, it is a bit of a maze, and when you're fighting
the snakes remember to target them with the k l ; o keys, and hit j to
attack.
I've got a hunter character and I find moving a lot helps stay alive,
though not sure on strategies for other classes.
