Jaws is deficient in many ways and this is one that crosses out of gaming and into stem. One of the tools linux users have and use is called chafa. What chafa can do is inhale a picture then output to another file the picture in ascii symbols or braille. The fact jaws cannot read what is effectively an ascii screen means those working in stem cannot use jaws to read graphs charts or pictures. That gets difficult for people in the computer field analyzing data flow diagrams and physical flow diagrams both of which are necessary for systems analysis work. I use Linux now as a result of that and other jaws limitations and have done so happily for the last 10 years of my retirement. I promised myself if I ever lived long enough to retire I wouldn’t do windows and why I did windows at all is windows was a work requirement.
