The remastered versions of DOOM and DOOM II have arrived, bringing
with them a host of new enhancements and features, including
improved accessibility options. These updates aim to make the
first-person shooter games more inclusive for players with
disability.
Visual accessibility options include High Contrast Text and Menu
Typeface, making menus and text more readable for players who are
blind or with low vision.
Additionally, Screen Flash Effects can be disabled to reduce visual
overload and potential seizures for players with photosensitive
epilepsy.
Communication accessibility features like Read Chat Out Loud,
Transcribe Voice Chat, and Speak for Me in Voice Chat enable players
who are deaf, hard of hearing, or have difficulty reading text to
fully engage with teammates and opponents in multiplayer mode.
Options for people with physical disability include Controller
Bindings and Sensitivity Adjustments, as well as Mouse Smoothing and
Sensitivity Adjustments. This allows players to customise controls
to their needs.
Additionally, Crosshair Adjustments and Auto-Aim Customisation aid
players who are blind or with low vision or have difficulty aiming.
The games also offers additional options like Multiplayer
Settings and Display Settings, including field of view and screen
size adjustments, to enhance the gaming experience.
