Exactly correct.

I will just add one note: statements like "I think that code needs some work" do not endear developers to you, especially when, as is the case here, the code is in fact performing properly. You might consider softening your tone should you report things like this in-game, as you'll generally get much more favorable responses from the people who would be looking into your report.

Hi,
Let's see if what I am about to say helps. And as always be sure to check
help files for more information. And if you ever come across a bug or a
problem drop Draak a mudmail.

Now starting brew unguents 101:

No need to analyze anything when brewing unguents. The brew analyze only
helps when brewing tonics or salves. Its just you, a container with some
liquid in it, and 1 spell comp. First fill the container with some liquid.
Then type brew unguent and the name of the spell comp. For instance example
brew unguent crystal. Once you have a good mixture , cast your spell on the
container. The spell will take hold and then you bottle it. All unguents
produce just 1 bottle worth. Note you must know the spell in order to cast
it on your container.

Things to note about the spell comps you use. Using a comp with the affinity
of your god, the level of the spell comp, or how much you use can boost the
level of the brew. You can use 1, 2, or even 3 pounds of a given spell comp.
If the item you use weighs more than 3 pounds, it will use just 3 pounds off
it. Never more. Most times I just use 1 pounds of my gods affinity,
especially when doing them for jobs. The affinity of the comp does not
matter except if its your god's affinity. Practice with different of the
comps, plus the different weight amounts. Once you have brewed your unguent,
you can id your container to see the level of the brew. This way you know if
your brew is high enough level to contain your spell. Of course just trying
to cast the spell on your container tells you the same thing. But this way
you know what you did to get that level of brew. This way you know if you
need more weight, or higher level comps to do what you want to do.

So here's hoping this help a bit.

1) I got practices in brewing unguents
yet when I do brew analyze the command wrongly assumes I want to brew
reagents.
2) brew unguent analyze told me I could brew with a milky quartz crystal and
I had the crystal in the pot along with fresh water and it failed.
Very likely that's way beyond my experience level and the brew analyze
commands fail to take into account player's levels of experiences before
telling them magical components could be used.
I think that code needs some work.
