OK, let's see if I've got it now. I put the mode selector into the practice
position figuring it would be good for learning the game. Pressed start and
here we go. For each turn I would start by pressing the Henry button to hear
a sound, then press one of the buttons in the four by four grid trying to
find the same sound, if I do find the Henry sound in the four by four grid
that button in the grid lights up, ,regardless of whether I found the right
sound or not, that is the end of a turn. Rinse and repeast until four button
in a straight line, horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, are lit, when
that happens that is the end of the game and the end of game sound plays.
And that tells me what the mode switch is for, it tells the game if you are
just practicing, playing alone, single, or playing with friends and or
family, multi. If you are playing in multi mode, whomever creates a four in
a row of lit buttons is the winner.

Does all of that sound right to you from your memories?

Be careful when searching for your own meHenry game, most of them that are
being listed is the Game.com cartridge that may or may not include the
Game.com game system. The main reason why you don't want the game.com
cartridge version is because unlike the hand held game version, it adds a
visual element to the game you won't be able to use. I believe you can turn
off the visuals and just play the original audio only game, but I'm guessing
it's not at all like playing the hand held game. For one thing there
probably isn't the four by four grid of buttons, instead a four by four grid
is displayed on the Game.com screen and then you use something like a
directional pad to move a cursor or pointer around in the grid to make your
selection. For visually impaired play, the hand held game is far better. But
be prepared to pay, this one cost me $175 to get. But what else can you
expect for something that is apparently becoming quite rare. I count myself
lucky I found this one, it was already in three other shoppers carts when I
found it so I was real quick to grab it.
