I usually save the wild and wild draw 4 until I have to play them. So if the person before me plays a yellow 6 and I don't have a yellow card or any color 6 card I will play a wild card. But if the next player has called for Uno meaning they are down to one card I will play the wild draw 4 if I don't have a draw 2 in the color played before me.
