Hi, Allan.
Believe it or not there are many ways in which an outsider can aid
fellow ag game companies. For example, perhaps being a voice acter.
Many sighted game companies insert movie clips in between missions to
tie up the story such as two people in a base. The base is under attack
and they are talking about the attack. Eventually, the game character
says something like:, "stay here and i'll handle this."
Boom! you are on screen as the game character, and you, the gamer, have
to handle it.
Just as the gamer enters the boss level a movie comes up with the boss
character telling the main character what a whimp he is. That he will
crush the main character as a bug. The character says something knoble
like, "Just come on and try me."
Then, level starts and the battle is on.
There only a few VI games that does this sort of thing with audio. In
Troopenum we get a sense of this with Lord Vector popping in from time
to time with his two cents.
An other area is original music from VI gamers. I am ok at making up my
own music tracks, but still it is nice to have some gamers that are
really talented to donate original music for a small fee to a game
project. That might get them employed as a game musician.
Another area is answering feedback forms, submiting story suggestion
requests, etc.
I've noticed since I put out the request for suggestions for Star Wars I
have gotten some really good ideas. The most likely is Jason's story
suggestion, but Brandon and others gave some really good ideas to. So
starting the new year I have to decide upon the actual plot of the game.
