While we're on the topic of MUDs, I'd just like to mention a particular one that, in my opinion is the best MUD out there. Of course, I'm bias seeing how I'm an immortal on it but I just thought I'd pass it along.
It's called Dark Forces, and it's nice because it's incredibly well organized and JFW friendly. You're not bogged down with dozens of mobs spamming your screen and, my favorite part, it's not some silly fairy-tale land your exploring. It's actually a very well done SW MUD, which in itself is a rarity.
