Hi Allan, Actually they are not as hard to type on as you would think. While the keyboard being totally flat can be a bit awkward at times particularly if the typing surface is not at the right height, it is no worse than working on some of the other flat keyboards such as the type 'n speak or pac mate. Once you figure out a comfortable surface to set it on to work it is fine.
