1

yes

games on a regular basis?

yes, 6 hours

yes, sod, gtc most others done by bsc software, pcs and l-works.

games out there? Is there certain things you would like changed to
improve their accessibility?

see.

my answers are currently ok and not really accessible wise except
audioquake which seems to need some shades of doom like detecters
otherwise all I want is more games to be able to be played online.

> 6. Do you have surround sound speakers? If yes, please state whether
they are 4.1, 5.1 or higher.
no

> 7. Do you prefer to be able to load a game up via the command line or
via menus?
menus

> 8. Do you prefer messages in the game to be conveyed via speech or
via non-speech sound?
don't care, speech is good, human speech is prefured, sapi speech is
adoquit standard text in message dialogs is crap but I suppose it would
be ok, depends on what game.

> 9. Are you ok with having to learn the meanings of non-speech sounds
or do you just want to get into a game straight away?
Each game has sounds to learn, and each has different sounds.
Non speech audio cues are good.
However I am the kind of guy who hacks into the games without reading
the manual, and mostly I am ok.

> 10. Do you prefer games wich have lots of background sounds or do you
find them distracting?
Depends on the game.
Generally I like background fx.

> 11. What queues do you think should be included in a 3D first person
game to help you navigate and to comprehend your surroundings? E.g.
compass/sound of footsteps etc.
Footsteps, beeps, pitch going up and down.
Saying that standard beeps are crap so they would have to sound quite
chunky depends on game.

> 12. If you were designing a 3D first person game, how would you go
about designing a 3D environment so that it was accessible to a blind
person?
Never thought about that, sounds in front, behind, and on each side.
But I am not a dev just a lowly hacker.
