Hi Jeremy, My friend Carl did an article on going through a Maze in an earlier Audyssey when we put out the game HAZE MAZE. Essentially, he said that you need to create a physical representation of the maze with push pins stuck into cardboard, such as a lid to a pizza box. When you start out, you need to find out where you are and which direction you are facing. With this information, it will be easier to start if you know you are in a corner, along an edge or at the center of the maze. So, by reading the instructions and by moving around a bit lets say you will find that you are in the South Center of the maze. So this would be on the bottom center edge of your pizza box. put a pin in the middle of the bottom and follow the right wall putting a pin along the bottom of the pizza box each time you take a single step. Now do the same with the east, North , and west walls. Where there is an opening leave a space in the wall of pins. And when the space opens up to the left and you turn left into a room, make the same turn on your pizza box . I know that this procedure is slow but eventually you should get a physical picture of the layout of the maze, and even discover areas that you have not explored yet.

For those who aren't aware of this game, I will explain what it is after I ask my question. > > One of Sryth's main parts of game play is the need to navigate around maze-like caves, tooms, levels etc. I have never been shown how to read maps, at least not very effectively. grin In some maze-like games, I can memorize which passages go north, south, etc. However, I was wondering what tips and techniques some of you use for navigating around without having to memorize each sequence. I was thinking using some paper or some flat surface with some kind of marker as a reference point. > > Basically, I ask this question out of curiousity. Navigating the mazes are not impossible, but why reinvent the wheel if others have great techniques. grin > > For more information about sryth, you can check out > http://www.sryth.com > > Sryth is a RPG similar to a dungeions and dragons. It is one of the deepest games I have ever seen as far as content is concerned. Completing quests can open other parts of the game, etc. > > Thanks for answering the question. > > Jeremy > > > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] > > > > to leave send a blank Email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > You can contact the list owners/moderators by Emailing [EMAIL PROTECTED] > to go nomail send a blank message to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > change "nomail" to "normal" to resume messages. > Yahoo!
