I always enjoyed playing breakout back when I had just enough vision to do
so on an Atari console, so I was excited when I heard that we had a version
for us. I have some initial impressions and questions to jot down here.

I like the way the wall is rendered. There is enough information without
being too cluttered.

I think the speech needs to be turned up with respect to the ball and other
sounds as, at least on my system, it was never clear how many balls I had
left. Alternately, implement a command to tell the player this information.

I am mystified by the paddle operation. I'm not sure whether this is like
a pong game where the paddle simply has to be in the correct area, of the
field, or if there is a timing element involved in when you hit the
key. Also, I haven't noticed much in the way of differentiation in the
amount of angle one gets no matter which row of keys one uses. Finally, my
space bar doesn't seem to work, though the left and right shift keys do.

What's with hitting the ball more than once? On several occasions, I could
strike the ball two or more times. Does each row of keys operate at a
different "height" from the bottom death zone?

Related to two paragraphs back, how is one supposed to get the ball moving
at an angle to go get the bricks in the corners?

I also did not notice any great difference in the speed of the ball when I
used different rows of paddle keys.

Finally, as a personal note, I would rather use the arrows to move the
paddle, instead of selecting a discrete position.
