its a stupid thing ms does.
go control panel
go user accounts
click change user or ad user or whatever that button is.
its the first one.
you find a list
highlight asp net then hit change
hit remove or delete
you get a warning about deleting.
put yes
push keep files.
close all windows.
install dotnet 1.1 first.
If xp home you will have to reboot and login to your account then do the above,
wit 98 you don't need to do anything with xp pro you can install and do as
above and you are set.
Note that any other updates to 1.1, and installing future versions of dotnet
doesn't do this.
