Dear Dan and list members:
In my rental house, I had to run about fifteen feet of dryer hose, in order
to reach a new vent hole I had made in the plate just above the foundation. In
checking the book which came with the dryer, I found that metal duct was
required to prevent a fire hazard, and there was some language about voiding
the warrantee, if the plastic flexible hose was used. That has been several
years ago, but I did discover that the flexible metal duct works much better,
as in my case it kept the lent moving better and thus avoided clogs.
You may have been using the metal all along, but your post to the list was
silent on this aspect of your project.
It is amazing how many projects a heavy hammer can accomplish?

                Yours Truly,

                Clifford Wilson
