What I know about the corrugated plastic flexible hoses is that they are
implicated in dryer fires.

As for venting directly into the house, the very fine lint which remains in
the air stream is said to be pretty harmful to health. I have run a dryer
like that for a time in a particular commercial setting but with a nylon
stocking over the end of the hose. This appeared to work well particularly
when the stocking had a thin layer of cake form on the inside and they do
fill up completely and surprisingly rapidly. On the other hand it seems a
shame to pay for that heat and moisture and just pump it outside when you
also pay for heat and humidity. I don't suppose it is healthy either to
inhale the chemistry in those anti-static chemicals. I have not seen any
actual scientific articles defining any health issues but it is hard to
imagine that aerosol particles can ever be good to breathe.

So, a rigid vent pipe is preferred at any length but the longer the run, the
more significant the benefits and safety.
