Lee, We all do it more often that we'd like. There should be a lid of some sort on the top of the battery, they don't much look like caps anymore as they used too. Pry this off and have somebody look down there to see that the liquid is well over the plates. If not fill. Of course keep your littel blind haptors the heck out of there.
If you don't fill it up it may sulphate up while trying to charge and be a gonner.
