Wouldn't it be wonderful? They are a walk-behind little tractor with remarkable hydraulics, sort of a small version of a bobcat. Clifford Wilson told us about them first so I had to look them up. There is a tracked version and a wheeled version, I don't remember if they are interchangeable. You can get all sorts of attachments for the hydraulic arm. You can just walk them up onto the bed of a truck for transport.
What I am looking for just now is a plate compactor for shaking down the base for relaying my patio. it is not at all convenient for me to haul one back and forth from a rental agency on those evenings and week-ends when the weather, the gods and my ambition all conspire to get down to the task. I figure if I can buy one used and sell it again after I am done with it I can consider any loss to be the rent. Actually I probably wouldn't loose all that much but so far finding one is the problem. New they cost a kings ransom!
