That will be correct. Your fence is probably about 24 inches long so most of 
the board will be in contact much of the time particularly when the concave 
edge is against the fence. Still, the saw fence depends on a straight edge 
running along it, otherwise you end up cutting a parallel bow even though it 
will be straighter.
