We were given a hand cranked iceCream maker as a wedding present
nearly 35 years ago.
Used it a lot at first, then decided the constant inflow of heavy
cream was not to our doctors liking, so it sat somewhere till the
metal parts rusted to death and the can's tin plating went away.
Nothing like rusty iceCream.
but it was fun and very good when you really cranked it hard.

A friend withwhom my wife plays chamber music often makes
homemade iceCreams in a freezer you put in the "freezer" that's
electric.
Ginger iceCream is actually quite wonderfull, particularly when
after fine music and in good company.
